Kent Wedding FloristBloom Room

Today I would like to welcome to the blog Helen Taylor from Bloom Room, a creative Kent wedding florist. We first met while working on an editorial bridal photoshoot for Creative Brides blog, which was published in Wedding Ideas magazine. This talented Kent wedding florist has a creative eye and a flare for floral design skills, as you can see from a few photographs from our shoot together.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS?

Bloom Room are specialists in bespoke wedding and event floristry and work from a studio in the heart of the South East. From our Sussex base, we cover London, Surrey, Sussex and Kent. Bloom Room was founded by Helen Taylor, who before launching into the world of floral design, had a successful career in design and management.  Helen trained at the world renowned McQueens and subsequently gained a wealth of experience working alongside some of the most talented florists in the industry.

WHAT DEFINTES YOUR STYLE AND APPROCH TO WEDDINGS|

We believe that every wedding is special, and deserves the very best in terms of quality, design and service. No two weddings are the same, so we aim to take your ideas and sense of style, and combine it with our floral design skills and expertise to create something truly unique for your special day. We understand how important the small details are, and pride ourselves on our attention to detail, as well as providing a high level of customer service to back up the floral design aspect of the business.

WHAT TIPS DO YOU HAVE FOR COUPLES ON THE PLANNING PROCESS?

Enjoy the planning! It really shouldn’t be stressful – if it is, you’re probably not working with the best suppliers for you. There are lots of suppliers to choose from, so it’s important to find the ones that you feel understand you best. You are ultimately choosing suppliers to take the stress and worry off your hands, so pick people that you trust with the vision for your day.

ON the day, time will go so quickly, so make sure you plan in a little time to just take a step back and enjoy a few quiet minutes appreciating the day and the people around you.

HAVE YOU NOTICED ANY PARTICULAR TRENDS IN WEDDINGS FOR 2016?

We’re seeing a slight move away from the “just from the garden” homegrown style of flowers to a more luxurious gathered look, with hydrangea and garden roses featuring heavily in our designs as we move through the wedding season. Peach and blush tones are incredibly popular, with metallic highlights coming from containers and finishing touches such as ribbons also making a regular appearance.

Overall, we are seeing that couples are generally opting for relaxed weddings in terms of both style and venues, with the focus being on celebrating with friends and family rather than more “traditional” weddings with a formal feel.
