London elopement weddings at Marylebone Old Town Hall are one of my absolute faves! The town hall itself has it all; cosy wood panelled interiors and the incredible light in the alcoves on the impressive Portland stone front steps all help to create some wonderful photos (even if I do say so myself!) Put it simply, the place is stunning!
So, this is where Doctors Gemma and Dan chose to hold their super relaxed yet stylish micro wedding. Micro or elopement weddings came in to their own during the summer of 2021, and I’m really pleased that they have stuck around. Since then, I have been able to offer a midweek 3 hour package (more info can be found here, but in a nutshell, this package is only bookable Monday to Thursday or one month in advance of the wedding date).
The day started with Gemma and Dan greeting their family and close friends on the grand steps leading up to the recessed portico of the old town hall, with its magnificent Corinthian columns, before we all made our way inside. Gemma was wearing an effortlessly cool Rewritten wedding dress; with its contemporary silhouette, it perfectly suited the laid-back mood. She carried the most peachy-yellowy bouquet of deliciousness from the ever-talented Jacqueline at Suns r Roses (side note, we’ve worked together before and she’s super awesome!)
Gemma and Dan opted for the intimate Marylebone Room for their 30-minute ceremony. As the handful of guests took their seats, we took this moment to capture a few portraits on the superb marble staircase that leads you up to the ceremony rooms.
Once the vows were done and a few shots were captured in front of the carved wooden fireplace, we skipped outside and waited to greet the newlyweds. They happily descended the steps, Gemma in her impeccable Loeffler Randall pleated perfection, to a cascade of brightly coloured confetti. We may have got a few snaps of these little beauties amongst the confetti-covered floor, along with some fun group shots of course.
From the grand Portland stone façade of Marylebone Old Town Hall, we took the short walk to the understated cool of the Royal Oak, where a few more friends joined the party. The couple happily mingled with their guests before slipping out to grab a few candid portraits as newlyweds. Luckily for us, this small London village has plenty of excellent spots to stop and gaze lovingly at one another!
Gemma, Dan and their families proved, yet again that elopement weddings really are tiny bits of perfection. Thank you for inviting me to be part of your day.
