Zoe & Harry's laidback Shoreditch engagement shoot.
I originally met Zoe and Harry at A Most Curious Wedding Fair earlier this year. Meeting couples face to face before their wedding day is something I always try and do if possible, as it really helps me get to know how you really are around each other – plus, it’s always just lovely to chat in person, isn’t it?

Meeting couples before is even better when I have a camera in my hand, which is why Zoe and Harry chose to have a Shorditch engagement shoot a couple of months later in the gorgeous July warmth. If you want to know more about engagement shoots I did a whole blog about them here [https://matildadelvesweddingphotography.com/pre-wedding-shoot-kent-london/] but in essence it’s a nice, relaxed opportunity to get you warmed up in front of the camera and feeling totally yourself – not only does it give you a chance to relax in front of the lens, but it also gives me a chance to get to know how you move and interact and make your photos even better!

As Zoe and Harry live in super cool Shoreditch (only 5 minutes from where we first met!) we decided to walk around their neighbourhood. As always, it didn’t disappoint…
As a natural documentary wedding photographer, it’s my job to capture you exactly as you are in a non-posed way, but in all of the nicest-looking locations. For this Shorditch engagement shoot, Zoe, Harry and I did a tour of graffiti spots in Shoreditch, starting off with exceptional rainbow striped walls and going on from there. We also came across a gorgeous mural with 12-foot tall lettering in bright colours that read LOVE MOVE LOVE, which provided a beautiful background for some portraits.

Shoreditch has a stunning mixture of old facades and new, so alongside the graffiti and murals we went exploring some lesser known sidestreets for some more classic but no less interesting backgrounds. Labour and Wait has a gorgeous green-tiled front, and we also found beautiful slate-grey shutters and deep, inky blue bricks to take some relaxed, candid portraits in front of. We even found a building called Hedsor House, which is completely coincidentally where Zoe and Harry are getting married next year. If this shoot is anything to go by, I can’t wait for next year!
