Fitzrovia Chapel Wedding and Soho Reception – Rachel & Ian’s Intimate London Celebration
Prepare to be fit to burst with inspiration…
…because Rachel and Ian’s effortlessly stylish Fitzrovia Chapel wedding and Soho reception is a dream for anyone planning a relaxed, intimate London celebration.
Rachel and Ian met at work — Rachel is American, Ian is from the UK and for the longest time, their relationship was beautifully, frustratingly, transatlantic. A long-distance love story filled with airport goodbyes, time zone juggling, and FaceTime dates eventually led them to a small, meaningful wedding in London, surrounded by just a handful of their favourite people.
Their day was relaxed, full of laughter, and completely them, a heartfelt ceremony at the stunning Fitzrovia Chapel, followed by confetti in the streets, iconic London taxi portraits, and a Soho reception fuelled by Chinese food, cocktails, and bowling.

A Relaxed Fitzrovia Chapel Wedding in Central London

Tucked away just moments from Oxford Circus, Fitzrovia Chapel is one of London’s most beautiful hidden gems — and the perfect choice for Rachel and Ian’s intimate ceremony.
With its glowing golden mosaics, rich history, and atmospheric light, the chapel feels grand without being overwhelming, making it ideal for micro weddings, elopements, and small guest celebrations.
Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Rachel and Ian exchanged vows in a ceremony that felt calm, personal, and full of warmth — exactly the kind of atmosphere they’d hoped for.
Confetti on Booth Street (For Very Good Reason)
One of the quirks of getting married at Fitzrovia Chapel is that confetti isn’t allowed anywhere on the estate — but honestly, this just added to the fun.
Instead, we took a short walk over to Booth Street for their confetti moment. And given that Booth is now their newly married surname, it felt not just appropriate, but completely perfect.
With London traffic humming in the background and friends cheering them on, Rachel and Ian were showered in confetti right on Booth Street — one of those spontaneous, joyful city-wedding moments.

Classic London Taxi Portraits
No central London wedding is complete without hopping into a black cab, and Rachel and Ian absolutely nailed this part of the day.
After confetti, we jumped into a taxi for some classic London wedding portraits — those just-married smiles, squeezed-together laughter, and slightly surreal “we actually did that” moments as they made their way toward Soho.
These are always some of my favourite images from London weddings: relaxed, natural, and full of movement and energy.
A Soho Wedding Reception at Duck & Rice
The heart of their celebration unfolded in Soho, with a relaxed, food-focused reception at the much-loved Duck & Rice.
Perfectly fitting their laid-back, fun-loving style, the vibe was informal, social, and full of laughter. Think Chinese sharing plates, cocktails, and that unmistakable Soho buzz drifting in through the windows.
Rather than a formal sit-down wedding breakfast, Rachel and Ian chose a meal that encouraged mingling, conversation, and connection — exactly the tone they wanted for their day.
Bowling, Cocktails & a Very London Wedding Day
And because this wedding was all about fun and authenticity, the celebrations didn’t stop at dinner.
After the meal, everyone headed off for bowling somewhere in central London, keeping things light, relaxed, and very much on brand for a couple who wanted their wedding to feel more like a great day out than a formal event.

Why Fitzrovia Chapel Is Perfect for Intimate London Weddings

Pairing Fitzrovia Chapel with a Soho reception, whether at Duck & Rice, a private dining room, or a favourite cocktail bar — creates a wedding day that feels stylish, relaxed, and unmistakably London.
