Esmee & Gary’s London Wedding at Marylebone Town Hall & The Ivy Tower Bridge
London weddings always have a certain feel to them. The movement of the city, the mix of old buildings and busy streets, and the way everything unfolds around you makes the day feel full of life. Esmee and Gary’s wedding was exactly that — relaxed, emotional, stylish, and completely centred around the two of them.
They chose Marylebone Town Hall for their ceremony, which is one of the most popular choices for couples planning a London wedding. It’s simple, elegant, and right in the middle of the city without feeling overwhelming.
A First Look at Marylebone Town Hall
I met them at the back of the town hall for their first look, away from the crowds gathering at the front. This is something I often suggest, especially for a London wedding where things can feel busy quite quickly.
It gives you a bit of space before everything begins. A moment to see each other, take it in, and settle any nerves before walking into the ceremony.
Gary’s reaction said everything.
And Esmee looked incredible. Effortless, elegant, and with the most extra statement veil that moved beautifully in the breeze. It added so much to the photos and worked perfectly with the city setting.

Emotional Ceremony & Confetti on the Steps
The ceremony itself was full of emotion. You could feel the nerves at the start, and then that shift as everything settles and it becomes real.
Afterwards, we stepped outside for confetti and group photos on the steps of Marylebone Town Hall. It’s always lively here — people cheering, cars passing, tourists stopping to watch. There’s a natural energy that you can’t really recreate anywhere else.
It’s busy, but in a way that adds to the atmosphere rather than taking away from it.
Red Routemaster Bus Through London
From there, everyone boarded a classic red Routemaster bus. It’s such a fun part of the day and a great way to travel through London together.
It also gives everyone a chance to pause for a bit — to chat, laugh, and take in everything that’s just happened.

Wedding Portraits by Tower Bridge
We were dropped off near the Tower of London and made our way towards the river for portraits.
This part of London is perfect for wedding photography. You’ve got iconic views, interesting textures, and always something happening in the background.
There were plenty of tourists around, but that only added to the feel of the photos. We leaned into it, capturing more natural, documentary-style moments as we walked. Nothing staged — just real interactions and movement through the city.
The sunshine made a huge difference too. The light was soft and warm, reflecting off the buildings and giving everything a really clean, bright feel.
Esmee and Gary were completely at ease, which made all the difference. They moved through it all naturally, just enjoying being together.
Intimate Reception at The Ivy Tower Bridge
They finished their day with a smaller reception at The Ivy Tower Bridge.
It was the perfect change of pace. Warm, relaxed, and focused on good food and good company.
The speeches were a real highlight — thoughtful, emotional, and full of genuine moments. The kind that stay with you long after the day is over.

A Relaxed, Stylish London Wedding
What made this wedding stand out wasn’t just the locations — although a Marylebone Town Hall wedding followed by portraits around Tower Bridge and a reception at The Ivy is always a great combination.
The whole day had an easy, unforced feel to it. Everything flowed without pressure, and nothing felt over planned or staged.
It was simply about the two of them, their families, and enjoying each part of the day as it happened.
If you’re planning a London wedding and want something that feels relaxed and genuine, this is a great example of how simple choices can come together to create something really special.
