Kat & Daves – Third Time’s the Charm: A York House Wedding Saga
Yes, it’s another Covid pandemic wedding story! After multiple postponements due to the pandemic, the wedding finally happened—at the beautiful York House in Twickenham, no less—on August 13th. Unlucky for some, but not for Kat and Dave. After everything this pair had been through, they were long overdue for some good luck. It took three tries, a global pandemic, and more reschedules than you’d care to count, but they finally made it down the aisle.
With its stunning gardens and historic charm, York House was the perfect setting for their long awaited ceremony. The sun was shining, the guests were over joyed to see this pair finally marry, and the atmosphere was just the right mix of excitement and relief. After all, nothing says “forever” quite like navigating venue closures, guest list chaos, and last-minute rule changes together.
Of course, they couldn’t have done it without their two very special guests of honor—their dogs, who were on their best behavior… mostly. Sure, they might have trodden on the veil (twice) and made off with someone’s fan (because obviously, it was now a chew toy), but they looked absolutely adorable doing it. And really, what’s a wedding without a little comic relief?
After the ceremony, we made our way to Kat’s mother’s house overlooking the Thames for a small, intimate drinks reception. Looking back, the journey to this day was anything but straightforward, but wouldn’t change a thing. Because in the end, it wasn’t just about the perfect venue or the flawless dress (although both were pretty spectacular). It was about love, laughter, and the people (and pups) who made it all worthwhile.
Third time’s the charm, indeed.
