Phoebe & Chris’s | Fitzrovia Chapel Wedding | Bermondsey Bar & Kitchen Reception
As a documentary wedding photographer, I want to reassure you that having a laidback wedding doesn’t mean it won’t be stylish – in fact, some of the most relaxed weddings I’ve had the pleasure of being involved in have been the slickest! For example, the wonderful Phoebe and Chris’s day was a masterclass in how a relaxed wedding can still be super elegant too. Espresso Martinis, black cab rides and a Max Mara white shirt dress – what’s not to love?
Phoebe and Chris had their ceremony at the stunning Fitzrovia Chapel, a Grade II listed building with tonnes of history. When you walk in off the unassuming streets of Fitzrovia, you feel like you’ve been transported to a whole different world; one where the ceilings are gold, the walls are patterned, and you’re the only people in the world.
Phoebe and Chris’ heart-warmnig and personal ceremony was an absolute joy, as was their confetti shot afterwards – you know your friends are keepers if they’re keen for a confetti shot even in the rain!
Their laidback wedding plans continued to their reception, which was held at Bermondsey Bar & Kitchen. There are so many bars and restaurants in London housed in incredible buildings and spaces, so bar weddings are an obvious choice (and you know you’ll be happy with their drink selection! The Bermondsey Bar & Kitchen was no exception, with espresso martinis aplenty ready for the newlyweds and their guests.
I absolutely adored Phoebe’s Max Mara wedding dress. It’s so important to have a dress you’ll feel comfortable and like yourself in on the day, and her sartorial shirt wedding dress did exactly that. I mean, look at those photos of her on the dancefloor!
But a bit before the dancing, special mention should also go to Wild Rubus, who created the beautiful floral arrangements. Phoebe’s beaut bouquet was a wild and wonderful arrangement bursting with white and green tones and full of loads of different textures. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Caroline a few times and her flowers always take my breath away!
